DESCRIPTION:The Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) has organized the 21st International Surveyors’ Congress in conjunction with the United Nations International Seminar on “Integrated Geospatial Information Network”. Said Congress will be held at Hotel Istana\, Kuala Lumpur\, Malaysia on 20-21 June 2019 with the theme “Surveying the Future”. \nThe said seminar also incorporates lectures from distinguished international speakers. SUMMARY:FIG Working Week 2019
DESCRIPTION:The International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) and the Vietnam Association of Geodesy – Cartography – Remote Sensing (VGCR) has announced the holding of the FIG Working Week 2019\, with the theme “Geospatial Information for a Smarter Life and Environmental Resilience”\, to be held at the Vietnam National Convention Center\, Hanoi\, Vietnam on 22-26 April 2019. \nSuch an exciting week is expected to bring the international community of surveying and spatial professionals together to experience a mix of interesting plenary and technical sessions and workshops\, a trade exhibition and a variety of side events and social functions. The conference will also offer a unique opportunity to discuss key challenges of our time within the surveying profession with fellow peers. \nThe year 2019 is a very significant time for the Vietnamese community of surveyors as they will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of Surveying and Mapping Day of Vietnam (14/12/1959 – 14/12/2019) and the 30th birthday of the VGCR (1989 – 2019). Together with the 65th anniversary of Hanoi’s independence (1954 – 2019)\, the FIG Working Week 2019 will add a great contribution to the festive atmosphere to honor and celebrate this UNESCO’s City of Peace.

DESCRIPTION:The 69th Council Meeting of ASEAN FLAG will be held in North Panyu District\, Guangzhou City\, China on 16-18 April 2019. It will be primarily hosted by the Guangdong Industrial Technology Innovation Union of Satellite Navigation and Location Based Services. \nThe event includes golf tournament\, executive meeting\, Council meeting proper\, gala dinner and fellowship\, and guided tour. The Regional/International Technical Seminar scheduled on 17 April 2019\, which was offered for free of charge by the host\, covers Surveying and Mapping for Disaster Reduction and Prevention. \nAmong other arrangements include the free shuttle services to and fro the host-suggested hotels to the meeting venue\, and that all interested delegates will have the chance to see the World’s Longest Bridge (55-km Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge) towards the last day of activities.

SUMMARY:Subsurface Asset Management and Surveying Conference 2019
DESCRIPTION:The Association of Authorized Surveyors Malaysia (PEJUTA) will be hosting the Subsurface Asset Management and Surveying Conference 2019 (SAMS 19) in Kuala Lumpur from 25 to 26 March 2019. The event served also as the venue for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the ASEAN FLAG and the Surveying and Spatial Science institute (SSSI) – Australia covering the hosting of the Southeast Asia Survey Congress (SEASC) 2019 in Darwin\, Australia. A Regional Seminar was also organized on March 20\, 2018 at same venue by the Commercial Surveying and Mapping Society (CSMA) of Taiwan. \n \n

The meeting almost have a complete attendance from the ASEAN Member States (AMS) with the participation of Australia\, China and Taiwan. Among the highlights of the event is the presentation of the proposal by the Surveying and Spatial Science institute (SSSI) – Australia concerning the hosting of the Southeast Asia Survey Congress (SEASC) 2019 in Darwin\, Australia. Also tackled in the meeting is the orientation of the Council by the host\, the Philippines’ Geodetic Engineering Development Foundation\, Inc. (GeoDEV) regarding the monumental event called “The First ASEAN Land Governance Summit” at said venue on December 4 & 5\, 2017.
